"Important Reminders for Hockey Teams: Travel Permits and Sanctions"

Hey hockey players and teams! Just a friendly reminder that when you're hitting the road for a tournament, make sure to get your travel permits in order beforehand. Hockey Alberta requires all teams to have these permits in place before heading out on the ice. And for those of you looking to host exhibition games or tournaments within Alberta, don't forget to complete and get approval for your sanctions ahead of time. This helps ensure that everything runs smoothly and everyone can focus on having a great time on the ice. So let's make sure we're all following the rules and regulations to keep the game fair and fun for everyone involved.

Thanks for your attention to these important details, and best of luck out on the ice!

Request a Travel Permit

All fields are required.
1. A Travel Permit is required for any team that is travelling to any tournament (regardless of location), or for exhibition game(s) hosted outside of Alberta.
2. A Travel Permit is NOT required for a team travelling for exhibition game(s) hosted within Alberta.
3. For tournaments in Alberta, a Tournament Sanction number, obtained by the host, is required for attending teams. That number is entered in the Alberta Tournament Sanction # field.
4. For tournament or exhibition games outside of Alberta, sanction information (could be a number, letter or other document) is uploaded as a PDF in the Out of Province Sanction Details field.
5. Once a Travel Permit request is approved, an email containing the permit number is sent to the email address(es) included in the request form.
